Front the age of 16 to 18 I really had no idea what I wanted to do, I just knew it had to be something that I would enjoy! I ended up going to uni to study Sport Development and Coaching. After graduating I joined a coaching team at a grammar school, I enjoyed it but there wasn't really any career progression.
After that, I got a role at an insurance company which was pretty much the same fate! I really felt back at square one at this point. I really wanted to work for a company with career progression and when I read the job description for the Customer Success role at Florence I knew it would be a great place to work - I even got to speak to people at all levels in the company before I got the role which was a great sign.
I started at Florence in October 2019, originally as a Customer Success Executive and in Nov 2020 made the move to join the product team. It sounds a bit cliched but no two days are the same! I help deliver our product 'road map'. I look into what sort of products we should be working on and provide that info to the Tech team.
Once a new product is built I help to test it to make sure it's working as best as it can, once a product is live I review the impact that it is having on the business. If you show an interest in an area of the business you will get support from your managers and learn skills to help get you there. People genuinely do care about you and support you in your role.
