Football Area Manager - Fundraising

If you love football, and want to inspire young people who use footy to bring communities together, a role with Football Unites could be perfect for you.

Football Unites is one of the most exciting, rising football programmes across the country, soon to be the most prominent independent sports academy in the world.

You will be working with inspiring young people who are passionate about football and love being a part of Football Unites.

As a Football Area Manager in Fundraising you will tackle the budgets and schedules for the Football Unites Community Programmes and will work with the CEO to secure additional funding in these areas.

You’ll assist with the development of the Football Unites Funding Strategy and oversee the development and improvement of existing fundraising events.

Developing clear plans and objectives is an important part of the role so that individual, and team goals can be achieved.

With your ear to the ground you will assist with developing sustainable, high-value funding opportunities though existing contacts as well as reaching out to possible new funders and telling them all about the great work that Football Unites are doing in the local community. You’ll have a good idea of what businesses can be approached and be able to create exciting pitches and innovative proposals - Dragons’ den style!

What makes a Football Unites team member a top scorer?

  • You love footy and have experience of delivering sports sessions to young people aged between 8-16 years old.
  • You’re confident to manage a budget.
  • You’ve managed a team/schedules previously - perhaps during a school/college/uni project.
  • You enjoy working with others and especially with young people - you want to inspire them and motivate them through football.
  • You enjoy working as part of a team but you’re also happy to work remotely at home if you need to.

If you’ve got it, flaunt it (if not, Google it)

  • If you’re a qualified FA coach this is great.
  • If you’ve got some qualifications related to Youth Work/Finance/Business this is also great - but don't worry too much if not, as long as you are committed to using football as a vehicle to support people to achieve their goals, that is the main thing.
