Junior Fashion Designer - Sustainable fashion brand

If you’re looking to take your next steps in fashion design, a role in sustainable fashion is up for grabs at Plain and Simple.

As a Junior Fashion Designer you will be responsible for planning, developing and presenting new products for the Plain and Simple sustainable fashion brand. Your role will be to produce detailed tech packs from design concept through to prototypes for men’s and womenswear essentials.


You will be responsible for identifying opportunities for new products, fashion design, range building, developing technical packs, sample development, measuring and grading garments, following critical path ensuring samples are available at designated times, communicating with overseas factories and general administration.


In this role, you should be highly creative and have a sharp eye for details. If you’re passionate about design with an interest in sustainable fashion we’d love to hear from you. Your goal will be to create impactful designs that capture and promote the Plain and Simple company vision.


What makes a great Plain and Simple team member stand out?

  • You care about sustainable fashion and believe in the Plain and Simple mission, and you have excellent knowledge of garment construction.
  • You have a passion for design and innovation and have a portfolio bursting with design experience from work completed for other brands or you have your own designs to showcase.
  • You are completely clued up with Adobe Illustrator.
  • You work logically and understand the commercial approach to design and development.
  • You’re confident enough with this role to work remotely at the start with an office option possible down the line.
  • You are a great communicator and you’re super organised.
  • You’re happy and keen to work on a diverse range of products.
  • ou can kick ass with deadlines and organised is your middle name.


If you’ve got it flaunt it (if not, Google it!)

  • A working knowledge of Photoshop is a plus but not required for this role.
  • BSc degree in Product Design or related field is a plus but not required for this role.
