Paul Conway, Founder and CEO at Yuno, talks Kickstarters, business growth, and why having the right attitude will always win.
What was it like finding your first job?
My first job was a paper boy at 15 in Scotland and next up was an apprenticeship at 16 engineering, so I got lucky. It wasn't easy and I really had no idea what I wanted to do but thats fine, at 16 and even into our 20s we are all just finding what excites us.
I even then worked a few side jobs as a DJ (not the cool kind more kids parties and weddings) and in a few bars etc too.
How would you easily explain what Yuno does to someone who knows nothing about the property industry?
Investing in and controlling property is a daunting task and even for the largest of companies its a bit of a mission to give good advice, at Yuno we monitor changes in markets that affect property managers that control huge amounts of property and empower them to make smarts decisions and give great advice to their clients.
Why is it important for Yuno to hire young people into the business?
We have a young team and already have 4 kickstarters that have joined the team and it's growing fast. It's all about a great culture and place to work and we have nailed it! Its incredibly rewarding to work with young people and we hope to grow the team fast in 2021.
Where do you see Yuno growing in the next 5 years?
At the moment we are expanding throughout the UK with our data offering. Next up is marketplace UK and we will be expanding into Europe by 5 years. It's a really exciting time!
How can someone impress you in a job interview, do they need to have a university degree?
I don't have a degree and I don't see it as a ticket to a success. It's all about the right attitude, right support and the right team. Come with the drive and we will do the rest together.
