Hit me up!
  • 15,300 young people have engaged with Total Insight since they began
  • 1347 is the number of workshops that Total Insights have led so far….
  • 134 performances have been performed...encore!!!

3 is the magic number!

Behind the curtain at Total Insights and keeping everything going together with a network of specialist teachers, performers, practitioners and volunteers are…

Adam founded Total Insight Theatre in 2014 to increase the number of children and young people benefitting from the arts. He leads on the charity’s creative vision, direction and strategy, also sitting on the Derby Theatre’s Artistic and Learning Board Sub-Group, and sharing his experiences of founding the organisation with children and young people through ‘Inspiring the Future’. Adam is a Fellow of The Royal Society of Arts, and appears in The Big Issue’s ‘Top 100 Changemakers 2020’. He is a ‘Children and Young People's Champion’ finalist in the upcoming Children & Young People Now Awards.

Ella plays a pivotal role in Total Insight’s operations, overseeing programmes, widening participation, and implementing the strategy to ensure our work benefits those we set out to reach. In previous roles, she has supported organisations and institutions in a range of areas, including communications, mentoring, and education. Ella guest lectures at SOAS, University of London, and is a trustee of OCD Action.

Katie is Total Insight’s Project Coordinator. She liaises with schools and youth centres among other organisations, to deliver creative opportunities for children and young people across the country. Katie has taught drama for many years as a youth theatre tutor and frequently visits schools as a creative workshop facilitator.

Hit me with some Covid stats!

OK, I will!

Crossing the Threshold engaged with young people across England. Despite the lack of physical closeness, their adapted initiative communicated with individuals digitally, receiving the following feedback:

  • 94% of participants said taking part helped them process the impact of COVID-19, boosting their wellbeing
  • 94% of participants said they felt better connected with other young people taking part in the project
  • 100% of participants said they gained a sense of achievement and said they would recommend other young people to take part in a similar project.

What’s next?!

£18,240 is the amount that Total Insight Theatre has received from the Co-op Foundation to help young people support each other during bereavement. They will use the funding to deliver a national online project for young people bereaved during the Covid-19 pandemic, using the arts to safely explore their experiences and help process the impact of bereavement.

Nice work!
